Micromovements in Snapshots | demo | 2014
Tamás Waliczky in collaboration with Anna Szepesi: "Micromovements
in Snapshots", Video Installation, 2013/14
Animation is the illusion of movement. Movement is based on space and time.
- SPACE. This installation consists of six short animations. Each animation is
based on a single photograph. Each photo has its own space and this space
contains many visual elements.
- TIME. Each animation is about one minute long. Each animation starts with a
photo as a still image. At first there is no movement. Then a slow pan shows
parts of the photo. The panning speed increases. At a certain speed, parts of
the photo are no longer separate elements. The elements of the photograph create
the illusion of movement because of the speed. The speed creates animation.
This installation demonstrates that animation can exist within any still image.
