Tamás Waliczky: excerpts from early animations, 1969-1975
Tamás Waliczky made several hand-drawn animations between 1969 and
1975. The first one was made when he was 10 years old. He learned the
technique himself from practice and books. The most important book was
the Amateur Film Pocket Book, which he received from his mother. When
his father saw his enthusiasm, he bought him an 8 mm film camera. All
Waliczky's early animations were made with this camera. Many of his
animations have been lost, but some have been copied onto video and have
survived.
In parallel with his animation work, he also drew comic booklets between
1970 and 1972.
